The College will send books, a CD-ROM, and instructions for accessing lectures via the School’s web site. ![]() Offers a CD-ROM and Internet based JPME Phase I correspondence course, which can be completed in 6-18 months. Theater Security and Decision Making (21 wks) In order to graduate in June, students must complete all course requirements by 30 April. Enrollment constitutes a commitment to a minimum of four to eight hours each week. Web-enabled correspondence (online group seminars) – Designed to be completed in 15-18 months, and closely aligned with the Naval Command and Staff College in-residence and Fleet Seminar curriculums for O-3s and above. Fleet Seminar (classroom seminars at designated remote sites) – Consists of three courses (Strategy and War, Theater Security Decision Making, Joint Maritime Operations), each with 34 weekly three-hour evening sessions from August to May. Naval Postgraduate School offers four courses comprising a joint education curriculum leading to JPME Phase I certification.Ī. Some programs also offer accredited Masters Degrees. ![]() War Colleges and selected foreign war colleges award completion of JPME Phase I. Officers should strive to achieve full Joint Service Officer (JSO) status, which requires completion of JPME Phases I and II, as well as a minimum 24-month tour in a JCS-approved Joint Duty Assignment. JPME Phase I is no longer required to screen for command. JPME Phase I is required for an officer to take O-5 command for which the command at sea insignia is authorized.
